Welcome to the 16th century old Finca Cas Bernats. It has a very special place in my heart and was my home since 1984 until I moved around the corner into my transformed stables. For quite a few years I have kept the doors open to the public, yet it still remains a home.
When the finca was bought it was almost a ruin. Luckily I was innocent about what it means to repair an old ruin in Mallorca so I went about it with great optimism. I had to bring in a telephone line, electricity and water. The floors were laid with hand made Mallorquin tiles, arches were rebuilt and the old house was brought back to its original state with modern commodities, like bathrooms and heating.
It is a labyrinthic and intriguing house in its layout. It was probably extended as the former owners family grew and is still doing so today! The interior furbishing is quite eclectic, with ethnic, modern and antique Mallorquin/Swedish ingredients. Decorating the house was my passion and you will find many paintings on the walls. Some are my own oil paintings or collages, others are from well acclaimed Swedish or English painters.
