Welcome to the 16th century old finca Cas Bernats. It has a very special place in my heart and in the heart of all our guests. It is the most beautiful retreat to stay at and it is also a home...
Cas Bernats is an eclectic mix of Mallorquin and Swedish mixed with open spaces and a cosy heart.SEE GALLERY
Welcome to the 16th century old Finca Cas Bernats. It has a very special place in my heart and was my home since 1984 until I moved around the corner into my transformed stables. For quite a few years I have kept the doors open to the public, yet it still remains a home.
When the finca was bought it was almost a ruin. Luckily I was innocent about what it means to repair an old ruin in Mallorca so I went about it with great optimism. I had to bring in a telephone line, electricity and water. The floors were laid with hand made Mallorquin tiles, arches were rebuilt and the old house was brought back to its original state with modern commodities, like bathrooms and heating.
It is a labyrinthic and intriguing house in its layout. It was probably extended as the former owners family grew and is still doing so today! The interior furbishing is quite eclectic, with ethnic, modern and antique Mallorquin/Swedish ingredients. Decorating the house was my passion and you will find many paintings on the walls. Some are my own oil paintings or collages, others are from well acclaimed Swedish or English painters.
Perfection is not what this place is about, but it is a truly charming and rustic finca with a lot of personality. The farm is a family run business. We want to have a personal relationship with our guests and make sure that they feel relaxed and at home. If they have special needs we are happy to address them. It is also very important for us to have a close collaboration with the group leader so that he/she feels supported in their work.
Painting, gardening, cooking, animals and farming are my main interest. You will find the garden filled with local, Mediterranean plants and flowers. We have palm trees, citrus and almond trees as well as the classical pine trees. The farm grows organic vegetables fruits and herbs. Whenever in season they are available for our guests. The horses, sheep, chickens, cats and Seline my great Dane will be there to greet you.
Hopefully a visit to Cas Bernats will have brought you inspiration.
Best wishes and Welcome
